This Benz 24 V starter is intended for the C 457 truck, whose larger engine needs more cranking power than lighter models.
The Bosch-type unit delivers 6.5 kW at 24 V and drives the flywheel through a 9-tooth pinion. It is a replacement for a worn or burnt-out starter on this truck.
